Nightmare.

In my sleepless dreams I see that face.

Just...awful.

I want those three minutes of my life back.

An Alcohol Fuelled Review

Well, maybe it's the inebriation talking, but you're going to get the benefit of my first review on NG since I grew up and developed an opinion. Not that you should worry, it's mostly complementry.

While the graphics are fairly simplistic and the Flash is short and equally simple, I still liked it. The futility of whatever Bale's character was called versus Mr. Sucky Matrix actor man was actually pretty funny, in spite of the obviousness of comparsion.

Short, to the point, and for want of a better expression than saying it three times in one review, simple. A nice quicky on the Godlike powers of Neo. If that was his name in the films. By now I've done my best to phase Reloaded and Revolutions out of my memory, including all character names. Shame. The first Matrix was so good...

Anyway. I become pedantic about the point. Good show, et cetera.

Frustrating.

It seems impossible to be able to play through this without relying purely on memory. Perhaps slow the assault of the squares earlier on to make it more fundamentally skill-based, or it just gets frustrating particularly quickly.

Flashoverdose responds:

Really? hm, i thought the squares would of been too slow! thanks for the comment, keep that in mind if I ever make a sequel

Pretty decent.

I enjoyed this a darn sight more than I enjoy most dressup-esque games. I even ended up using it to make a character I eventually and most subtley named Deadhead McCathat.

Anything that can inspire me to create a character called Deadhead McCathat is fine by me.

Lacking.

As I write this review I've left the game running in the background; it seems all I have to do to amass a gargantuin score is leave my character in the centre of the screen. I imagine the aforementioned precision mode may remedy this, but, still. The presentation is passable, even if the music seems a little much.

It just seems there just isn't any real depth. Alternating between pushing the left key with and pushing the right key - at least with so little else going on - doesn't feel like it constitutes a game.

AIDSMcGuff responds:

I don't see what's wrong with the music, even though I just thought of the option to turn it off. It was just supposed to be a simple game, using only two keys, but then again I guess it was too easy to be able to stay in the middle.

I used to be younger. Now I'm older. I guess these things just happen.
